Welcome to the King’s Head, Laxfield
To call this pub unique is an understatement. Still genuinely unaltered, this 16th century Inn offers the benefits of fine Adnams beers, fantastic home cooked food and a welcome second to none. Commonly known as The Low House, this fine old pub has no bar but dispenses the beers straight from the casks in the tap room: the high backed settles and a warm open fire adds to the appeal of this family run business.
Horse and carriage rides also feature at weekends or can be pre-booked at all other times.
There are now 3 letting units in the recently converted stable block, all offering double bedded rooms with ensuite facilities.
The magnificent gardens provide a wonderful back drop for the various functions and events which are held there.
Our friendly staff will endeavour to make your visit a memorable one, be it for a quick drink, leisurely meal or holiday. Hopefully a visit to this hidden gem of a traditional Suffolk pub will fill you with happy memories that you will want to return to time and time again.
We are now listed and recommended in The Good Pub Guide, The Real Ale Pub Guide, in the top ten of The Guardian Travel writers best pubs in the country and in Sawday’s Guide as one of the top five most authentic pubs in the country.
